The first-year post-transplant survival rate is 95% for hearts and 85% for double lungs—the highest in India and on par with some of the best centers globally. The program has sustained these numbers for over five years.

Dr. Attawar’s team is fully integrated with dedicated cross-functional experts including transplant cardiologists, surgeons, pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, transplant intensive care specialists, and rehab specialists.

The transplant evaluation progress will identify and address gaps in a recipients overall health over the course of treatment. It includes both a physiological and psychological workup. A detailed post-transplant care plan is provided to all patients.

The majority of patients receive transplants within the first three months of being listed. This meets or exceeds regional and national standards where waits can reach eight months. Post-op hospitalization can be as low as 12 days following heart transplants and 21 days following lung transplants.
